Firing myself.

I notice I haven't blogged in over a month. It could be I don't feel I have anything interesting to blog about. It could be that I can't ever upload pics and that takes the fun out of it. So this is me trying to catch up.

Tanner started school August 13th. Here are a few pics.
Photobucket Getting on the bus! Photobucket Waiting out front for the bus!

I'm not as happy with his Kindergarten as I hoped to be. I really don't understand the worksheets. He's not even doing them on his own and I don't think they are productive. I really liked pre-k better and miss his old class.

August was Chris's 34th birthday. Here's a pic of Tanner and Chris blowing out the birthday cake! We went to The Big Cheese in Yucaipa for his birthday dinner.

Agh. Once again the pic is huge! The pics of Tanner were from my friends phone. I have no idea why pics I upload are so huge and won't shrink! It's really frustrating and most of the reason I don't blog.

I'm so glad summer is winding down. The kids are back in school, the mornings and evenings are cooler, and all my favorite shows will be back on soon!

Ruby-ism

Now that I have my braces off, I am forced to wear this contraption.

My problem is. I really hate spit. Like hate it. Did you ever have a brother, boyfriend, husband, friend, that would pin you down and pretend they were going to spit on you? Thier spit would dangle from thier mouth and they would slurp it back in? Nothing in this world grosses me out more than spit. Even my own. I hate, hate, hate when I take this retainer out and drool and slobber come out with it. I rinse it in the water everytime I take it out. Then I dry it completely before I put it back in my mouth. Why am I drying something that is going to go right in my mouth and get wet anyway?

Freak I tell you.

I don't share popsicles. Drumsticks. Spoons of ice cream. Nothing grosses me out more than the possibility of someone leaving thier slobber on my food.

Bleck.

Keeping Busy

Or trying anyway...

Tomorrow we are going to Yucaipa Regional Park with my friend and her kids, and my mom and sister. We'll have a good time! Today at Target they had all thier sand pails and shovels 30% off, so I got some pails and shovels for .68. Can't beat that!

Summer is probably my hardest time of year. Having a special needs child really limits me in what I am able to do. I try to keep busy and get out of the house, but sometimes it feels like so much of a chore. Today was storytime at the library. We were late for that and that was ok for me. We were outside becuase they have a nice grassy area for the children and some fountains. That was nice until Tanner realized you can push the handicap button to open the library door. So after that he kept wanting to mess with that. Being that it's 100 degrees today, I don't think the people in the library really liked that too much, so we left. I just want him to be able to experience things other kids get to experience, but sometimes it can just be so draining on me. It's hard work carrying a 5 year old to the car when he is having a fit! Last year around this time my best buddy and I went here www.rancholapuerta.com for a week. She won the trip on Wheel of Fortune and took me! It was wonderful and right in the middle of Tanner's break. Perfect for a little rest. I wish we could go again, but it ain't exactly cheap! Maybe one day we'll get to go back!

I hope everyone had a happy 4th. I didn't have my camera ( I know, I know, I'm fired) We went swimming with some friends and watched the fireworks from my friends window. She watched them on the roof with her kids, but I don't do roofs (scared of heights you know) So I sat in her window sill. Tanner..well..he just didn't care for them. He was watching a Disney movie on Laurie's bed. Hey, whatever works I guess!

I took Tanner to the 1.00 kids movie last Thursday and we made it! I think it helped that it was Shrek the 3rd. Tanner really seems to like shows with music, so I kept it entertained. The kids pack with popcorn helped too. This is the first movie he's been able to sit through, so that was good! I took my friends little boy and he had a good time. He had seen it a few times so he would saw a lot of the lines. I thought it was funny!

Here are a few pics (hopefully, I have the worst time getting pics to upload here) of our trip to California Adventure a few weeks ago. I didn't take too many because I wasn't feeling too hot. (The next day I found out I had strep)

argh! Pics won't work!

Craptastic

3 things.

My "fixed" car runs like crap.
I have strep throat.
Our 3 year old tv went out yesterday.

That's all.

Hopefully. This is not my week.

Catchin Up

I haven't blogged in a while so this is me catching up!

I started the new job Monday. It was fun! Everyone was really nice. I was really nervous becuase I haven't had a job involving a cash register in years! The register is actually on a laptop, and it's really user friendly. I work M-W, 10-2. It was really a lot of fun and I am excited to be working there. My last day at my old job was Friday. I will miss working with my friends mom, but I wasn't needed there anymore.

I got my car back Friday. All seemed well until the hubster drove it at night, and my headlights aren't coming on. So back to the shop it will go Monday morning. Our Trailblazer is occasionally overheating, so we took it to the shop to have them take a peek at it. We need a new something or other and the guy wanted 380 for the part, and 180 for labor. Chris said thanks but no thanks. He found the part online for 140 and will put it in himself. The rental is going back tomorrow. We tried to take it yesterday aroud 4, but realized Enterprise closes Saturdays at 12 and is closed Sunday.

Lets see...nothing exciting over the weekend. Did the usual grocery shopping. (why is everything so damn expesive? 5.19 for Kraft cheese, Mayo for 4.99?) Did some laundry, oh and downloaded this www.motivatedmoms.com. It's a chore list for moms. I will admit I am not the best housekeeper. I'm thinking it's genetic. My grandma's house had TONS of stuff. I mean TONS. Clutter, Clutter, Clutter. My moms is better than her moms, and mine is better than my moms. I am just not a good cleaner. I get sidetracked easily and don't finish things. Or, I spend so much time cleaning one thing, and I don't get all the stuff done that I want. I have used the chore list before, so I got it again. I really like it.

Last night we watched The Bucket List. It was SO cute! I really loved it. Chris liked it too. Today we went and saw Get Smart. Oh, that was funny! You must check that out.

That's it for now. Tanner is at his Ja-ma's house so I suppose I should go get him!

Hope you all had a nice weekend!
